World Environment Day . . lets Join!

10 June 2011 (Friday) – The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) would like to invite the public to join in the fun at FRIM in Kepong, in celebration of the World Environment Day themed “Forests: Nature at Your Service” this Saturday, 11 June 2011.

Register now for the Eco Fun Walk to be held at the FRIM’s beautiful Kepong Botanical Garden be creative for the occasion for special prizes will be given only for best fancy dress (made of recycled materials). Those interested may email: edihermi@frim.gov.my to register or walk in on 11 June to register on the spot.

There will be Guided Nature Walk offered to visitors in three groups at 9.00am, 11.00am and 1.00pm respectively on first-come-first-served basis. To register, email faizal@frim.gov.my.

There will also be Car Boot Sale of used household items at the FRIM Club (F3 Building) in the main campus and Recycling Counter set up by Alam Flora to purchase items such as old newspapers, bottles and aluminum cans, between 8.00am and 2.30pm.

Apart from that, Erra Art Club will organise a Colouring Contest starting 10.00am at the Perah Campsite for two groups of children, aged 5-8 years and 9-12 years respectively. There will be an interactive story telling session for participants. Those interested may register via hazlin@frim.gov.my.
